Wedding theme: winter, red berries, pine cones
“We would like to keep it simple” this is what the bride told us the first time we spoke over the phone. A winter wedding with red berries and pine cones.
But what exactly does “simple” mean? Each of us attributes a different meaning to the concept of simplicity and we needed to understand theirs.
During our chat with the couple they told us about their wishes. They would have liked a wedding in the “mountains”, in a rustic but elegant venue with wood-burning fireplaces! The logistical difficulties of a mountain resort, however, frightened them since they had decided to get married in winter and feared the snow. They were afraid of creating problems for the guests, probably many would have given up attending the wedding due to the distance and the cold season. So they decide to put aside the initial plan, leaving everything else unchanged. Mostly there must have been crackling fireplaces! A winter wedding with red berries, branches and pine cones.
As always, we immediately start planning:
1. a rustic but elegant location with rooms for their guests
2. bright colors like red and splashes of green (since they were getting married in February!)
3. a tableau de mariage made up of hypericum sprigs
4. centerpieces composed of bouquets in glass vases set up on beautiful rectangular tables
As for the flower proposal we had:
- hypericum red berries
- branches of greenery
- pine cones
The couple and their guests then concluded the day listening and dancing jazz manouche music played and sung by our talented musicians.
